About Me

In the Beginning

This website is run by Dan Birch, an ASP.NET CMS developer for several years I have been using Silverlight since the alpha version (1.1) having instantly seen the benefits of having the power of .NET and XAML on the client-side.

When Silverlight V1.1 was released there were no controls available for it, which is why I started the Liquid Silverlight Controls suite. Initially it consisted of the TreeView, however over the following months I had implemented a multi-line TextBox, CheckBox, Radios, Progress Bar, Calendar and more.

When Microsoft finally released Silverlight 2 BETA 1 (which contained many of these controls) I began to look at developing other controls, ones which were still missing from Silverlight 2, which is when I developed the Rich TextBox, ItemViewer and File Upload Component.  Today I continue developing the Liquid Controls library, creating high quality, re-usable controls for free.

The Present

The current focus of my attention is the development of Silverlight games and also HTML5/Flash games where appropriate.  The exclusive games listed on the main games page were written solely by myself (thats 12 in the last 12 months!).  The CMS which I developed on and off over the last year is available to download and use for free.  Oh, and theres an interactive live chat app running on Silverlight too.
